Awesome Video of the Week!

August 8, 2010

Good Evening loyal fans of Continue?, how are you all doing today? Me, I’ve been swamped with work, fighting crime, and playing Star Craft 2, that I haven’t written any articles in a while, and have once again allowed the Video of the Week to slip away from me. However, I finally am sitting down, and taking the time to write after going on a bit of a hiatus.

This weeks video shows a YouTuber who goes by the name of Freddie25, playing a medley  of video game music. Before you say anything, I know, that isn’t very awesome, there are lots of video of video game medley. Freddie25 however, does it with a bit of a twist. He has constructed a medley of Video Game Songs with Lyrics. Freddie25 has taken popular Video Game Songs with Lyrics by artists such as Brentalfloss (any Megaman with Lyrics video and Tetris with Lyrics) and Martin Hagwell (Super Mario RPG Song), and blended them together into a very clever and unique sounding medley.

This is what happened to me when I first saw the video.

COW-A-BUNGA DUDE! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game!

May 16, 2010

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Heroes in a half shell. TURTLE POWER!” – excerpt  from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon

It’s that time again; my slow but steadily developing “COW-A-BUNGA DUDE!” series is back! Throughout the “COW-ABUNGA DUDE!” series, we will be examining the different Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games that have been developed throughout the years. Today, we are taking a look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game.

Back in the 80’s and 90’s, the Ninja Turtles where the hottest thing since sliced bread. Kids couldn’t help but devour, with great tenacity, the seemingly limitless merchandise available. Cloths, toys, bed sheets, bubble bath (my personal favorite), are just a few examples of the items children, like me, demanded from their parents. This merchandise included video games!

The Top 5: Atari Commercials

May 11, 2010

The Atari 2600 defined a generation of gamers. With its sleek 8-bit graphics, sound effects, and probably the largest library of games available to any one system at this time, it was no wonder it was such a success. Over the last year, I have taken time to research the success of the Atari 2600. I’ve dredged through books, I’ve scoured the internet, and I’ve talked to early adopters of the system. It wasn’t the library of games. It wasn’t the graphics, and it certainly wasn’t the price. The key to the Atari 2600’s success can now only be seen on YouTube and other video sites. I’m talking about, COMMERCIALS!
