Don’t you always want to know the inside story? It’s always fascinating to get a behind the scenes look at your favorite video games or maybe see interviews with the actors of your favorite movies. Well how would you like a behind the scenes look at one of the biggest companies in video game history? I’ll give you a hint: It starts with an N. Even more interesting is the man telling all of the information, a nameless figure except for the title: Captain Nintendo. So who is he, and what could he possible tell us?
I’ve been waiting a long while to start this article because of the project that I’ve been a part of. The goal of it was to create a Canon of video game music so that anyone who wanted to listen to VG music, would have a good place to start.

Metal Storm is a lesser-known game from developer Irem, better known as the creators of the R-Type series. While it shares some similarities in design and pacing to R-Type, it also happens to be one of the most unusual platformers ever to grace the Nintendo Entertainment System. Even now, platformers featuring player control of gravity – such as Nintendo’s Super Mario Galaxy – are considered revolutionary. Truly, Metal Storm was ahead of its time. Well here’s a classic game we’ve all probably beaten: Super Mario World. The Best part of the game was the open design because you could beat the game as quickly or as slowly as you wanted to. I remember taking it slow and trying to beat every level the first few times, and then I came to the realization that if I unlocked star world in the second area, I could just beat it and go straight to Bowser’s castle and just beat the game. Well the videos I have for today put my thinking to shame, sure some of them are silly mods, but some of them are glitches and tricks I never ever thought of.
Well I’ll admit that most games that the AVGN trashes I usually don’t think about playing for a second unless they’re just THAT bad. But due to the music on this game, man I’d almost consider playing it just for effect.
