GOG.com is not dead – Fans not quite sure how to feel.

September 22, 2010

After a long weekend of wondering what the hell happened, fans and stakeholders of classic PC game retailer GOG.com (short for “Good Old Games”) learned today that the site is in fact very much alive, and the supposed death of the site was in fact a ruse designed to generate buzz surrounding its “rebirth” out of beta after two years.  The sites developers, dressed in monks’ robes,  apologized during an online conference (and later in a taped statement on Youtube) for the deception and outlined some of the new features coming to the online store, including the re-release of Baldur’s Gate, a highly requested title prior to the site’s alleged demise.  The representatives also re-affirmed that the site is not going to require a separate download client (à la Steam) or add Digital Rights Management software to the released packages.

So, Grand Theft Auto is violent you say?

July 15, 2010

The GTA series has been the bane of over protective parents since ’97. It’s violent missions and utter disregard for the value of video game character, errr um, human life has been called one of the most violent games of all time. GTA has been blamed for kids being numb to violence by one too many news stations.

Now I love me a good shoot ’em up game, don’t get me wrong, but I wanted to see where this genre actually crossed the line of wtf because GTA hasn’t really done it in my opinion. Yes it’s violent, but there are lots of games out there that are more grotesque. One of those games is the infamous Postal.

Happy Holidays from the Staff at Continue?!

December 22, 2008
He had better not piledrive our ornament...

He had better not piledrive our ornament...

As the holiday season grows closer, we’d just like to thank everyone who have helped this website to grow! Over 1,000 views in the site’s first week of existence is pretty darn good in my book! On behalf of Andy, Dan, and Zach, I’d like to extend some deep thanks to anyone who has visited our site over the past week!

We are looking to do some very fun things starting in 2009, and without support from readers like you, we would never be as enthusiastic about the work that we do!

Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

Website Construction

December 13, 2008

We have a small list of things to do before we start posting full time on our shiny new webpage, so I figured I’d lay out some of the plans that we have upcoming here on Continue?.

We plan to write on a regular basis, so a list of possible featured article ideas is being kicked around. I already know what I will be writing about, but getting the rest of the authors set-up on WordPress might take a few more days. Once everyone has an account, we’ll be ready to go!

Also, before we post anything, we need to decide what form of license we will be using for the work placed on this site. We will be using a Creative Commons License, so whatever we post here will have full permissions to be distributed – provided you mention us as the original author. We will be deciding which license to apply for over the next two-to-three days.

Finally, we need to make this site look a bit more presentable. An overhead banner and possibly some other image-related updates will be addressed over the weekend.

Look for the first real article to be hitting the site sometime next week (around Wednesday)!

Thanks for reading, and we look forward to making this new project grow!
